Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is going to be removed from every store on the PC market. This marks the end of an era, and players are rightfully angry that this single player game with some online components is going to be removed despite dropping in 2017. While it might be old, there should be a legal way to own this one without having to rely on external free sources that can give us everything. Unfortunately, developers don’t understand that people are still interesting in old games, even if some components don’t work. Perhaps announcing the online will be sunset might have been a better choice.
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is gone
On November 15th, the game will disappear and perhaps it will be replaced by a new release. Slitherine is known to work like this, and whether players like it or not they will always do this it seems. Battlestar Galactica Deadlock was a very important game for many, especially those who are fans of the Battlestar Galactica franchise, now, players are grieving the loss of what was a good game, and it seems that we will never get this one back unless they remake it or you get it somewhere else. This is yet another blow to game preservation, but I’m sure people have figured a way out with this one.
Battlestar Galactica is a big franchise, and despite the fact that Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is gone, there will be more things to wait for. As mentioned before, the company might be cooking a new game behind scenes and when this one is removed, they will probably drop a trailer to announce it for 2026. Regardless of this, having done this is pretty bad for the overall preservation aspect of gaming, however they don’t seem to care about their own legacy, they only wish to sell new product and move on.
