Mewgenics got a new deep dive video and it truly shows us that the game is absolute madness, as expected from something that would come from the hands of Edmund McMillen himself. PC gamers that are familiar with the antics of what Edmund tends to do can pretty much expect what this game is gonna rant about now, of course, its not religious zealotry, but the dangers of animal breeding and the deformations it causes on our furry friends. Most games by Edmund actually have a reason to be and a critique to tell us, even if it comes from the dark humor side of Newgrounds, a thing we never have to lose.
Mewgenics might be a 2026 hit
There’s a consistent trend when it comes to Edmund’s games, most of the time they will hit the spot for youtubers to start rambling and making let’s play videos out of them. I have a feeling that Mewgenics has the same potential as games like The Binding of Isaac or even Super Meat Boy, provided his efforts get enough recognition we will be feeling at home as if it were the early 2010s. I really want to see Mewgenics succeeding, as it is an amazing idea breathing fresh air into a genre that often does not get that treatment.
The synergies really feel like something crazy, and there’s a big chance that this game might get even more crazy stuff going on than even The Binding of Isaac itself, which seems impossible if you know that game very well, but given that Mewgenics ties itself to the Strategy RPG genre, there’s more potential for seeing some insanity unfold. Mewgenics is coming on February 10th of 2026, we just have to wait for some months more if we want to experience some purrfect madness.
