Lupio Studios have disclosed that their action RPG termed The Last Worlds: Crossed Souls will become open-world action games to be launched in the year 2026 for the Nintendo Switch platform. This follows an official announcement after a successful funding campaign in Kickstarter where it was able to raise over $10,000 exceeding its target. With that, the money 확보해 such primary development will now be achieved toward various stretch goals, which might include collaboration with composer Yuko Komiyama known for her work on Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, as well as Mega Man X.
The Last Worlds: Crossed Souls stars the magnificent Planet NESS-444 as a bright world that invites for deep exploration by a player. The story of the world sets a huge truth to be discovered by traversing various specific biomes while climbing high peaks for a panoramic view and descending into deep abysses of the earthen floors for discovering ancient ruins built by once-existing civilizations. The setting is inhabited with the Nessky, which may serve the role of potential allies or the most formidable foes to fight. Some Nesskys provide sanctuary under shelters, while others are overtaken by a dominant darkness to give immediate opportunities to the strongest species that have developed hard-to-counter powers from rare natural gems.
The adventure revolves around Lupio, an agile main character who hides powers. It’s a melee weapons-oriented combat design such as swords, shields, axes, greatswords, and giant maces. Combat progression occurs through experience obtained from brutal battle fights; the level up thus allows one to acquire newer spells, game crafting recipes, and skill points. Such points will then be used in improving core characteristics of the character, namely, Vitality (HP), Endurance (Stamina), Strength (Melee Damage), and Intelligence (Spell Damage). However, combat encourages exploration reward in the form of complex “Nessian puzzles”: enigmatic stones tied to forgotten legends that, when solved, yield rare items.
By brothers Pasquale, Vittorio, and Matteo, the course of four years has gone by in pursuit of their dream collectively creating this game-honorably calling it such, Lupio Studios. In their declaration, developers would point to a few rough core influences such as The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, and Monster Hunter but, at the same time, mention the Dragon Quest saga as distinctly different because emotion, irony, and fantasy adventure come into play. They wrap up by saying how hopeful they are about the continued support from the RPG community as they gear up for the expected event in 2026.
