Icy Tower is a legendary PC game, a king of the computer classroom even, at least it was for me and many of my generation. Racking up high scores and playing well was some gamer skills you were admired for along your peers and the times we played Icy Tower were epic. Long gone are the days where things were simple, but a shred of hope comes from reflecting upon the past because things are often cyclical, our current burdens will end soon. The world and the industry is on a crazy place right now, maybe this is what we need to not go insane.
Icy Tower is coming back in 2026
The creators have asked people to wishlist this old new game, this remake of Icy Tower has been done from scratch and all assets have been crafted with love and the hands of the original creators themselves. It has been a long time, 25 years to be precise, so this is clearly aimed to be an anniversary gift for fans who have been playing this classic for so long. Of course, the original is still preserved and we can play it, but I’m very curious to see what things will come with this new iteration of an already cool formula.
Icy Tower has marked a generation, at least I know its a game from my generation, and I remember fondly upon it. High Scores that were never beaten might still remain on that hard drive of the abandoned Windows XP machine back in computing classes, perhaps nobody reformatted it yet. It is amazing to think that such memories are never really lost forever, as hard drives are quite resilient when it comes to keeping data intact for years to come. There might be some corruptions here and there, but what matters the most is that it still exists.
