Dementium The Ward has been remastered for PC players to enjoy. It really carries with it a similar aesthetic of the classic, but it does look less crunchy and more polished since it needs to be adapted to a modern system. The DS was a handheld that had many limitations when displaying 3D but it was still an amazing system that did many things well. Horror games shine in this portable, and I would argue the DS library has the best horror games out of them all, despite being a Nintendo console that is meant to be family friendly in a way.
Dementium The Ward gets remastered
Now we can enjoy the classic horror experience from the commodity of our own PC. Things get better because a ton of fixes have been applied to the game, especially to make it work in a different system that does not have dual screens anymore. Porting games from the DS era to PC can be complex as you have to take into account if the game requires any sort of dual screen emulation for all features to work properly. Thankfully, this version of Dementium The Ward has been redone from the source code to fit the idea of an old PC game.
It really emanates some SCP vibes with the monster design and even how dark the ward can be, all of it is horrifying and fits the mood of the times we are in, nearing Halloween quite close if you ask me. If you are interested in this old yet new release, you should at least wishlist this new title to help the developer behind it, being an Indie developer is tough on the marketing side. If you have some change to spare, the game is currently on a 40% discount, so you should really grab it before it goes away, Dementium The Ward is a classic to check out.
