Croc Legend of the Gobbos is a true PS1 classic that is now coming to PC, there’s a tons of things to collect in this classic collectathon game that was the coolest sensation of the 90s. They also fixed a ton of the issues that plagued the original release and polished the graphics to look a bit more modern on recent PCs, truly a remaster that remains faithful to the original, and it even lets you pick how to play it. Back in the older days, tank controls were a must if you wanted to control the titular character Croc, it seems this is going to become an option.
Croc Legend of the Gobbos is back
It seems that we are still in the year of remakes and remasters, and there’s no coming back from them. It is obvious that this happens because the industry is getting stale, and creatives aren’t being treated as they should be treated, like human people. There’s a ton of problems with it, and some even suggest terrible “solutions” to “fix” things, such as using Generative “AI” slop, but is clear that they are just being paid by a dead fad trying to justify its existence. Croc Legend of the Gobbos has a legacy of decades behind it, truly a legend.
Originally conceived as a Yoshi game for Nintendo, the ideas was scrapped and Universal had to rely on other partners. Sony was very interested since they wanted to compete against Super Mario 64, despite failing to win the competition, it still put a dent on it. Competition has always been a thing in the industry, and nowadays we can even see blatant examples such as Palworld trying to steal content from Nintendo’s Pokemon series. The industry is in need of fresh blood that are nerds who know how to design games, instead of detached from reality executives who never touched a game like Croc Legend of the Gobbos.
