Epic Games has now officially unlocked the mammoth itinerary of their yearly Fortnitemares celebration. Series of never-before-seen horror-plus-entertainment crossovers to hit the Island throughout October were thus confirmed. The event begins the rollout of content on October 9 and includes some long-wanted genre icons, such as Jason Voorhees: mascot of the Friday the 13th franchise and the masked slasher Ghostface from Scream.
The recent reveal trailer provided key looks at these horror heavyweights, mostly confirming fans’ long years of wishes for Jason Voorhees to join the battle royale thus awaiting this big win for slasher movie enthusiasts together with Ghostface, who appeared earlier, stalking characters through a haunted environment that appears to be much more thematically in tune with fright appeal than just another set of cosmetics. Huggy Wuggy helps drive the modern horror aspect of things and also confirms a soon-to-be collaboration with the hit co-op survival title Poppy Playtime.
To stress the game’s much broader appeal, Fortnitemares 2025 will not only draw its focus on classic horror. Epic Games has confirmed that other members of Mystery Inc. from Scooby-Doo, namely Daphne, Velma, Fred, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo himself, will arrive as a full-blown contingent of cosmetics. For many in-between elements, this update features a high-profile collaboration with Doja Cat. The artist, rapper, singer, and songwriter will get two different skins and the first one will go into the Item Shop on October 10. There are some reports, though, suggesting that one of those skins will have Doja Cat featured as a limited-time boss encounter in the map itself for some extra fun.
The roster beyond that covers a lot of licensed cosplays with original stuff flowing in, alongside already-coveted fan favorites. The trailer gave glimpses of new original skins, with what seemed to be a vampire version of fan-favorite Marigold and a glowing green zombified Peely. Assuming an annual run of Fortnitemares till the finish of Chapter 6 Season 4 on October 31, this combined weight of unprecedented crossover events with new original cosmetics places it as one of the most jam-packed and highly awaited Halloween celebrations in Fortnite history.
