Those who are familiar with Alan Wake, it seems that this game is trying to emulate the same vibes but with a very different style. Fighting against the demons of your mind is honestly way more interesting than attacking the average zombie or monster. More horror games should focus on the psychological horror aspect instead of going gun crazy like the majority out there. Even Five Nights at Freddy’s managed to do something very interesting from super limited resources, and there’s plenty of games that do the horror vibes in such a way that doesn’t even feel like horror.
The Raptured, being clearly based in Alan Wake, will go for a Resident Evil 4 approach with its third person camera and limited resources, it truly feels like a long lost title that should have release before. This is the magic of indie developers, they are able to create games that are reminiscent to those that came before them, back when games were good in their majority despite some of them being unpolished.
