Developers Team Ninja and Platinum Games have just released a new 13 minute long gameplay footage of Ninja Gaiden 4 which gives players a fairly good idea of the kind of spectacular and fast-paced gameplay experience that the upcoming hack-n-slash title will offer. So whether you’re a newcomer to this type of character action genre or already a veteran player experienced with all the previous Ninja Gaiden titles, this is simply a must watch for you so check it out right now:
The gameplay video showcases Yakumo, the new protagonist of Ninja Gaiden 4 storming the headquarters of the Divine Dragon order with a nonstop barrage of lightning fast and brutal action right from the get-go. And although the gore seems a bit over-the-top or even overdone at points, it matches the overall tone of the action in every way, making it feel integral to the whole experience.
We get to see Yakumo cut through hordes of different types of enemies using both long range and short range attacks combined with multiple weapons from his Katana to a Drill Spear, a bo staff plus a pair of small scythes. There are several moves such as an AOE based attack that finishes off multiple foes in close range which looks incredibly satisfying to pull off, along with tons of other powerful abilities such as dashes at warp speeds that can help the player close their gap between foes quickly and efficiently.
Another takeaway from the gameplay trailer is the huge levels which, combined with Yakumo’s highly impactful moveset, can enable the player to basically move in and out of reach of the foes at any point. This can be incredibly helpful and empowering during higher difficulties as it gives the players complete freedom to move themselves at any point in the levels without being overwhelmed or pinned down by the enemies.
Overall the new gameplay trailer is a great showcase of everything that Ninja Gaiden 4 is expected to deliver which is a highly satisfying and incredibly deep combat experience that encourages and rewards skill and quick thinking. The upcoming title will also feature a newcomer-friendly ‘Hero mode’ that comes with several gameplay assists which will help streamline the combat for players.
The fourth entry in the legendary hack-n-slash series, Ninja Gaiden 4 is scheduled to arrive on October 21 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Game Pass.
