Hades II is out, and its an amazing game according to many. The popular PC indie series is back with more action, more builds, and more innovation that feels fresh yet respectful of the original game. Games need to have their own identity, because game series that shift their gears end up becoming something that they really aren’t, losing all their core fans who caused the franchise to be good in the first place. Hades II is more of Hades, and that’s all we really need, no hyper realism, no trend chasing, no microtransactions. Indie developers keep showing triple A studios how things have to be done.
Hades II is doing amazing
The release of 1.0 version went very smooth, there’s thousands of praise coming from all sides of the gaming world, it is obvious that Hades II, just like Silksong, is a resounding success. There’s tons of new things to do in this new entry, and yet it feels familiar, people buy sequels of games expecting the best things of the first entry with some polish, not some weird and unnecessary changes to appeal an arbitrary minority of shareholders, indies are bound by the love they have for their fans.
Success is gauged not in sales numbers, but in how good does your game resonate with an audience, Hades II did amazing when it comes to that, and it seems that things are gonna keep sailing smooth if they ever do an Hades III or more entries, perhaps this is the right time to diversify with a Spinoff if they don’t really feel like doing a third entry too soon. Sometimes it is wise to rest and try out weird one off ideas that remain as a side thing, rather than using those weird ideas for a sequel and running everything. Supergiant Games know what they are doing, and they are doing the right thing.
