Where Winds Meet Sets Sail for November Release

Everstone Studio, the development team owned by NetEase, has confirmed the release date for its highly anticipated open-world action-adventure RPG, Where Winds Meet. The game will launch on November 14, bringing its unique wuxia-inspired journey to players on both PC and PlayStation 5. This announcement comes after five years of development and marks the first project for Everstone Studio. It positions the studio as a key player in elevating the Chinese gaming industry on the global stage.

Players will take on the role of a young swordsman navigating the dangerous landscape of 10th-century China. The game’s development has included several closed betas and playtests throughout the year, with the most recent one wrapping up in July. These tests have been important for refining the game’s mechanics and meeting the high expectations set by its initial reveal in 2022. The title is part of a wave of major Chinese productions, including Black Myth: Wukong and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which are establishing the region as a strong contender in AAA game development.

To mark the announcement, Everstone Studio released a new trailer showcasing the game’s rich world and dynamic combat. The footage offers a closer look at the stunning visual design of Ancient China and highlights the fast-paced, intense boss battles that define the gameplay. Additionally, players who pre-order the game will receive a selection of in-game items, including cosmetic packs, currency, and exclusive draw items, giving them a head start on their adventure.

With the launch date approaching, eyes are on Where Winds Meet to see how its performance will impact the ongoing rise of Chinese developers. The title shares the spotlight with other notable upcoming action-RPGs from the region, such as Lost Soul Aside and Phantom Blade Zero, both drawing significant attention. A successful launch could serve as powerful evidence of the creative and technical potential within the Chinese gaming industry, solidifying its status as a leader in interactive entertainment.
