Star Wars Republic Commando will get an improvement capable of revitalizing the game for those who are fans of graphics in the PC gaming world. Regardless of this, Star Wars Republic Commando is an amazing title that still holds up even today in my honest opinion, adding these sorts of updates kinda clash with the artistic integrity of the game itself. Many fans seem to be disagreeing with this because the bright colors contrast poorly with the original gritty aesthetic of the game, it is supposed to be a grim title, not a bright one. We at Infinite Start will cover these changes in detail.
Star Wars Republic Commando to get Path Tracing
The trend continues of graphical enthusiasts not understanding artistic integrity of a game. People will jump the gun very quickly and just dismiss a game of being old rather than having some artistic identity to it. LucasArts really knew what they were doing back in the day, so it is important to actually respect that vision regardless, many of these modders never really worked with the original art team after all. It becomes more egregious when it is the parent company itself that decides to do such changes, but thankfully that wasn’t the case here.
Star Wars Republic Commando is a classic in every sense of the world, and if you haven’t tried this one and at the same time don’t care about the artistic integrity of games, maybe you should give it a try with this new mod. Despite all the things I’ve said, modders always put their best efforts into doing things, even if they are sometimes misguided when it comes to understanding the vision of others, but hey, effort needs to be rewarded in some way. If you are interested in getting the mod, follow Digital Foundry on Twitter, they will be happy to have you.
