PC gamers are taking blows left and right if they live in the UK, and it seems that things will only get worse if they don’t do any sort of push back against their government. The situation is truly bleak because this censorship can affect the sale of games for adults or that discuss important societal topics in a serious way. Whatever isn’t allowed will be a slippery slope, and soon, we will start seeing games that discuss topics about alternative societal structures being delisted.

This can be catastrophic, because it can end games as we know it, games are meant to be a vehicle of expression for ideas, just like how books are nowadays. The thing is that younger people often play more games than reading books, so games can become their new vehicle to discover things about the world that they might not even know. Of course, fiction is fiction, but sometimes one can learn a valuable lesson that some powerful people does not want us to learn it seems. This is the era of surveillance and control of the masses, and they need us obedient.
Itch blocks these developers as a way to not face scrutiny from payment processors anymore, which in turn causes them to basically lose their only source of income, leaving many people in precarious positions. The unfortunate reality is that the pariah of Collective Shout is still pushing for this, and the tyrannical payment processors keep attacking us, thankfully the Stop Censoring Games campaign is still a thing, there’s also a way to fight back by making them bleed money, just use other payment processors to replace them, there’s plenty of options like Payoneer, which don’t seem associated to this.
