Bandai Namco working on something to make their own games is surprising, they were always known for having rather shoddy coding and asset flipping, even back in the day when Bandai was just Bandai. Perhaps it is related to the upcoming Digimon game, as it brought its own fare of challenges when it was being developed. Maybe we will see some new Tales of… series games using this new engine, the reality is that we don’t know, and perhaps sooner than later we will know the truth behind this. We at Infinite Start will cover this new development happening at Bandai Namco.
Bandai Namco working on something big
Bandai Namco has used a variety of engines before. This is tied to their troublesome past at game development, since most of Bandai’s games used to be pretty shoddy when it came to coding. Some of them even stole assets from companies like Tecmo, the controversy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde having a song from the game Rygar was a rather damning one, as it showed that Bandai never really cared about making quality titles. Publishers do be doing publisher things, and the reality is that most of the troubles in game development are caused by them.
Bandai Namco working on something big like this is surprising, because in the current climate of triple A gaming, those who are the laziest and more uninspired seem to be the ones that succeed financially. The rule of the game nowadays is investing no money or effort in what you do in exchange of massive profits, this is truly sad however, as there was once a time when these people were outliers, controversial figures that were shunned away. Back in the early days of gaming, only effort triumphed, and we really need to bring that era back as soon as we can. Bandai Namco working on this might change things, or not, who knows.
