HoYoverse officially announced the enormous content roadmap for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1, which is called “The Impending Crash of Waves,” and will be launched on July 6. After the conclusion of Version 2.0, which had brought Season 2 and a few extra units, the update that is coming up has been hinted to provide a wealth of new playable characters, material to the story, and interesting events aimed at engaging the audience.
Nested at the center of Version 2.1 are the introductions of two powerful S-Rank Agents, Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice Thymefield. Ukinami Yuzuha is a Physical Support heroine, and she will command the first half’s banners with a repeat of the S-Rank Ice Anomaly unit Hoshimi Miyabi bolstered by A-Rank reinforcements Piper Wheel and Billy Kid. The latter part of the update will add Alice Thymefield, an S-Rank Physical Anomaly, and a rerun of Tsukishiro Yanagi, an S-Rank Electric Anomaly, with Soukaku and Seth Lowell completing the A-Rank tier.
Apart from character additions, Version 2.1 heavily adds to the game’s narrative and gameplay content. Chapter 2 of the main narrative will commence, mainly within the new Sailume Bay zone. Apart from the above, players will also get to experience a sequence of special events, such as “Tales of Midsummer Dreams,” which treats participants to free summer skins for Wise and Belle. Other events like “Legend of the Marvelous Fish Stall,” “Jojo’s Space Mystery,” and “Failume Summer Puzzle” also feature various types of activities. New game modes in the guise of the “En-Nah” Chess Legend auto-battler as well as the punishing “Endless Tower: Glory” are also on the horizon.
The update also brings in the Fantasy Resort, a new map region based on beaches which has new mini-games such as surfing, target shooting during boat rides, and fishing. Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice are part of the new Spook Shack faction, and the player will learn more about this organization through their active participation in building the Fantasy Resort. HoYoverse is also providing generous rewards within the game, such as 1,600 Polychromes and login rewards of Encrypted Master Tapes and Boopons to make play worthwhile for new joiners and returnees.
