Zenimax attacks Microsoft after cancelling their MMO in 2025

Zenimax got their game cancelled, they now claim that Microsoft has stolen their future, and are angry at the results of the current Microsoft layoffs. This has been a catastrophic year for Microsoft, and nobody is sure they will make it out alive from this. Xbox players can’t even have a real game after what happened, to the point even Fable got cancelled, nobody really wants to engage with Microsoft anymore, not even with their current Windows OS. Hopefully Valve can shake things up and become the next kings and usher in a new era of quality gaming, but I’m not hopeful for that either. We at Infinite Start will cover what happened.

Zenimax is dead

MMO’s take a ton of resources to make so axing them can be extremely painful. A ton of money needs to be put into building the services and other infrastructure for the game, they are no easy task at all. If cancelling a game that has been developed for 10 years ends up hurting a ton, imagine what a large scale game such as whatever Zenimax was doing feels like. There was plans to grow, plans to get a proper foot in the industry, now they are gone forever.

All of that money invested will never return, and studios will be forced to close, similar to the one behind Hi Fi Rush. Other studios like Rare also suffered the consequences, and many will be unable to recover by this financial burden caused by Microsoft. It feels as if Microsoft was planning to destroy every possible game studio to try and have no other competition in the market, they know they can’t make good games. Even Halo got destroyed, whatever happened with Halo Infinite is something that people will never be able to forget, all promises were lies. Zenimax didn’t cut the Microsoft chain of lies in time.
