Valve to remove games from their store because credit card companies are engaging in a culture war against us. PC gamers needs to fight back as if this were the 90s, back when religion tried to slam against our hobby, telling horrible and untrue stories about the medium. Despite Valve identifying themselves under libertarian values, even those values have to bend to the plead of companies like this since they are above the law. While I might disagree with Valve’s doctrine when it comes to handling things at least you could try and get your hands in some spicy games. We at Infinite Start will cover what happened.
Valve to remove many games
This isn’t the first time Valve removed games from their store. It will also not be the last time they remove games from the store either, things will keep escalating until the store gets reduced to a family friendly hodgepodge of ideas and stolen games. Yes, they won’t control the fact that games stolen from Itch.io are being uploaded left and right, but when Visa gets angry with them about something like this they will respond quickly. After all, its all about the money rather than protecting poor indie creators who live paycheck by paycheck.
Valve has some big influence in the gaming space, being a dominant force when it comes to PC gaming, however not even that can save them from upholding sacred duties like obeying credit card companies unjustified demands. This is an escalation, and soon, we might see shooters be removed, we might even see games with adult topics or controversial topics disappear too. It is crazy that the medium is at a peak point in censorship in these days compared to what it was decades ago. We need to return to those decades, we need to reclaim our gaming rights.
