Subnautica fans are no joke, they seem to be one of the few groups of sane people trying to do a boycott against a product that isn’t what it was meant to be. The involvement of Krafton in Subnautica 2 was a disaster for the original vision of the game, and we will probably have the main ideas of the game scrapped and replaced with some sort of live service structure. Krafton loves those, and perhaps they might even start using “AI” slop to fill in the blanks too, they are known to do this with their games as they have no regard or standards for quality. We at Infinite Start will also fight this battle.
Subnautica fans are fighting the power
Fighting for your rights as a consumer is important, but its also important to uphold a standard of quality in the industry by not buying products that don’t respect those who work on it. Krafton is a company that managed to fund their success upon lies, PUBG was the start of the chain of lies as a matter of fact, even to the point of getting into a beef war with Epic way back in the days. Both companies are terrible, but the most egregious one ended up winning. Subnautica fans who remember the original game respect the vision of the original creators, cutting the original team is criminal.
This is happening with many games, Disco Elysium is another example of the company stealing the game from the developers and artists, this is the same exact situation. No matter if Krafton, or Krafton employees try to gaslight you into believing that’s not the case, you need to push back against these greedy practices, because if you don’t, it becomes normal to steal from people. There’s many industries where stealing from others is the norm, do not let the video game industry continue this path of self destruction, fight to improve.
