In a major move, Manni L. Perez, widely speculated to be Lucia’s voice and face, one of the main characters in the hugely awaited GTA 6, shut down her celebrity Instagram account. The move, done mid-July 2025, has raised a lot of discussion on the reasons why she did so, leaving gamers as well as industry experts with a lot to discuss.
Initial speculation soon moved on to probable harassment from the zealously devoted Grand Theft Auto fan base as motivation for her leaving the service. The obsessive scrutiny and sometimes zealous behavior that run with high-profile game releases, especially those of Rockstar Games, are well-known. Yet a more intriguing alternative theory has since surfaced, propounding a more technical, instead of fan-concocted, motivation. There are reports of suspicious activity, in the form of posting “scammy stories,” before the account got deleted, making the very real possibility that Ms. Perez’s Instagram had been compromised by a hacking attack. Although these particular allegations cannot be confirmed by cached profiles, the commonness of social media account hacks gives a lot of credence to this explanation.
MannilPerez’s account deactivation places short-term prospects for social media comeback in doubt. Her name appears on other accounts on social media as well, and they too turn out to be false ones, just as had first been suggested by Ms. Perez herself. The case highlights the challenges for people associated with big-name entertainment holdings, where borders between genuine fan activity and intrusive activity can get fuzzy.
Aside from Ms. Perez, the voice actor of GTA 6’s second protagonist, Jason, is less solidly rumored but Gregory Joseph Connors has also been named as a sure bet. Rockstar Games has had the tendency to withhold its voice cast announcements until a game is out, a practice that is to promotional benefit through surprise. The only exception, the cameo of Ray Liotta in GTA: Vice City, was because he was already famous in Hollywood, something which at present does not appear to be true for the leaked GTA 6 cast. Therefore, it is not very probable Rockstar will break its tradition by releasing the main cast ahead of the game’s release.
