NetEase and Marvel Games have announced a new initiative for their hit hero shooter game, Marvel Rivals, where fans can earn special rewards in-game through Twitch Drops. This initiative comes before the much-awaited start of Season 3, the “Abyss Awakens,” on July 11. It is a calculated step to keep the community thrilled and active as the game launches its next big content chapter.
The announced Twitch Drops will become active on Friday, July 11, at 5 AM PT, and last until Friday, August 8, at 2 AM PT. The extended period allows regular players and new followers enough chance to play and get the unique rewards that are being offered. Players must connect their game accounts to their Twitch account to be eligible for the rewards. Once they are connected, they can get drops by merely viewing Marvel Rivals content creators’ streams that have activated the drops feature in their channels.
The reward scheme is multi-levelled, giving back for extensive watching. Extensive watching for 30 minutes gives back the “Hawkeye: Will of Galacta Spray.” Extended watching to one hour gives back the “Hawkeye: Will of Galacta Nameplate.” Devoted fans watching for two hours are rewarded with the “Hawkeye: Galactic Gleam Emote.” The most difficult-to-attain reward, the “Hawkeye: Will of Galacta Costume,” is obtained after four hours of total watching.
The addition of a new Hawkeye skin is especially significant to the more experienced players of the game. The character did not undergo substantial cosmetic updates for some time, with his previous new look being the “Binary Arrow” skin from the Cerebro Database II event. This new “Galactic Gleam” cosmetics line for Hawkeye will be a fan favorite, with players being treated to a special new appearance for the legendary marksman as they make their way into the content of “The Abyss Awakens” season. The event not only rewards players for participating in the event, but it is also a successful promotional campaign for the new season coming up.
