Luto, a new horror game, has dropped on Steam recently. PC gamers gets blessed yet again with another good game to play, we really need some good psychological horror to come back. Yes, we do have Silent Hill 2 remake, and the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 1, but those don’t really get the correct vibe of how a psychological horror game should be. In all honesty, the genre is kinda doomed in today’s day and age because its perceived as too slow for many people, or at least that’s what companies want us to think. We at Infinite Start will cover this new indie horror piece.
Luto has been released
For those who wanna try it out, the game is currently on a 10% discount due to it being released recently, it seems that developers often give that discount to entice potential buyers into getting the game. Regardless, the experience is pretty tense, not being able to feel safe in the confines of your own home is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish upon anyone if you asked me. Trying to represent these feelings in a game can be hard, but this walking simulator has it all figured out enough to make you feel it.
Some games use narrative undertones to make players feel what’s happening, but in the case of Luto, the constantly shifting environment itself feels like a parody you must escape from it tells a story on its own. Nowadays, finding games like Luto is becoming increasingly rare, its more normal to find soulless remakes like Silent Hill 2, which missed the point of the original in many ways. While there’s a ton of care put into developing such games, true passion from indie developers is never hidden. Games are art, and companies who only seek profit need to find out the truth about it someday.
