GTA 6 is undoubtedly shaping up as not just the biggest videogame ever made but also the biggest entertainment launch ever, with the Open World behemoth expected to shatter sales records worldwide and moving millions of copies within minutes of it’s arrival. Though one venture capital firm has already made a prediction based on their internal findings that GTA 6 will generate a colossal $7.6 billion in revenue in just 60 days of it’s launch and although the numbers may sound outrageous, but GTA 6 certainly has the potential to exceed all of our expectations in ways that we may never imagine.
A managing partner of Capital firm Konvoy (which is a firm that invests in ‘platforms and technologies at the frontier of gaming’), Josh Chapman has posted a series of revenue predictions on LinkedIn earlier this week including GTA 6’s estimated budget as well as base price, both of which are purely conjecture at this point and is yet to be confirmed by Rockstar or Take Two. He believes GTA 6 will cost a whopping $80 and it’s overall budget is an enormous $2 billion which Rockstar will be able to recoup in just under 30 days. And regarding GTA 6’s expected revenue, he wrote:
“GTA VI: we predict that GTA VI will generate $7.6 BILLION in revenue in the first 60 Days of its launch (current release date: May 26, 2026). This will be the greatest video game release of all time; shattering player, viewership, and revenue records.”
The investment firm also estimates that GTA 6 will ship 85 million in a two-month window, and this also includes GTA + subscriptions which, according to their forecasts, will see a massive spike in pricing.
As of right now, GTA 6 probably has even more hype behind it than what GTA 5 did when it came out over a decade ago, with both of it’s trailers breaking viewership records twice. This really suggests that upon release, GTA 6 could garner revenue that was previously unimaginable not just for a videogame but for any entertainment property in history.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 26, 2026.
