Teyvat will open up and bring something new into the world, as HoYoverse just concluded a large developer livestream. The event provided players with a face-up look into the future Version 5.8 of Genshin Impact. The patch hopes to be a major milestone in the current Natlan storyline, providing a permanent new region for season content and first-ever access to a highly anticipated destination.
The most interesting news is the Sunspray Summer Resort, a brand new and permanent summer event venue coming with Version 5.8. This is not like the temporary events that have come before. Now, players will have a permanent venue to attend and have fun. To this, the “Song of the Welkin Moon” story will begin with a prologue, properly introducing Ineffa, the first character in the unknown world of Nod-Krai.
Even more of Nod-Krai was revealed, and adventurers saw it for the first time with its breathtaking landscapes. Among the fresh faces of this area is Lauma, a Dendro, who is affiliated with the Frostmoon Scions. Her reveal already has players speculating about new elemental interactions, especially in the fan-favorite Imaginarium Theater. Livestream also revealed Version 5.8 Event Banners like Chasca, Mualani, and Ineffa, and Citlali. Citlali and Ineffa will appear on the first half, and Mualani and Chasca on the second half.
Besides new locations and characters, Version 5.8 will also have new cosmetic character options. Yelan and Bennett will have new costumes. Bennett’s new costume will be accessible to players free of charge from Version 5.8 Flagship Event progress, but Yelan’s costume will be purchased from the game store. This patch also establishes the Traveler’s eventual meeting with the Tsaritsa, tying up loose ends in continued narratives. Enjou and Citlali New World Quests include the Mare Jivari, and a whole map expansion of that region is coming in a future patch. Version 5.8 will be released on July 30, 2025, and Nod-Krai will be released on September 10, 2025, which will be an exciting summer for Genshin Impact players.
