The controversial Mount and Blade Mod has died a silent death on the hands of its creator. Some PC gamers are relieved yet traumatized that this was even a thing in the first place. It is common for historical games or war related games to breed the most unhealthy of fanbases, often going into the fringe of political extremism with severe takes and historic revisionism. Fascists abound in such fandoms, and it truly is sad to see a good game with mod capabilities be yet another reason why big game companies push against modding as a whole. It is as if we couldn’t get nice things because a few ruin it for everyone.
Controversial Mount and Blade Mod is out of the way
The mod in question is about the Gwangju Running Man, based on the Gwangju massacre which is a traumatic event that happened in South Korea, this one was done in a revisionist fashion, and many think the author of the mods is Chinese while others suggest that might only be an ingenious cover up to avoid any sort of litigation. One can never really find the perpetrator online however, as anonymity can be both a blessing and a curse. On the internet, especially in today’s day and age, everything can pretty much be a fabricated lie, even names, including mine.
This controversial Mount and Blade mod has been done with the intention to be harmful, not even funny, and even if it was funny, a lot of hateful behavior starts with just a joke, and then it escalates into something bigger. This lack of concern for our fellow people is the reason that the world is trending into a downward spiral of chaos and hatred, but there’s things to be done, things that Valve won’t do since they didn’t take the mod down entirely. We can bring change in the medium as an anonymous force, just keep pushing together.
