Chasm got a new patch that includes ton of desired changes for the little indie title. PC players are yet again, the only people who have the privilege to play this one, as it does not exist in any other platform other than PC. Most indie games are released solely on PC, and console players basically miss out when it comes to them, sure, they might not be as big as the big indie hits, but nobody really cares about that as long as quality is still intact. Both big and small projects are able to make a difference on the industry, and industry that is currently so punished. We at Infinite Start will list the changes.
Chasm gets a big update
From all the changes done, a CRT filter was implemented into Chasm, because the developer of Chasm is actually working on another retro inspired project called Wolfhound, backporting features is always awesome, because sometimes engines are too similar between each other which causes the process to be easier. People who build their own engines have a big advantage because they are able to fine tune it to their needs, maybe even future proof it to painlessly make other similar games in the future.
Meanwhile, people who are stuck using premade engines like Unreal and Unity face a ton of issues aside from external factors that, most of these are serious bugs to even terrible optimization handling. Chasm is 7 years old, so this update is quite surprising, you rarely see developers drop an update on a 7 year old game, but its always appreciated as it shows that the people behind Chasm actually care a lot about the game they made, unlike other companies who seem to be hellbent on destroying games like Ubisoft. Get Chasm if you are interested in some cool retro adventure.
