The globe-trotting adventurer Indiana Jones has just scored a monumental hit on the video game side of things. His latest game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, debuted in December 2024 and was a big hit with both critics and fans. It brought the thrill of the films to life by allowing gamers to journey to places ancient and crack codes.
Since the game was such a success, particularly for Xbox, it would appear that Disney, the Indiana Jones owner, is extremely pleased. They’ve even said they’d prefer to have MachineGames, the game makers, make future Indiana Jones games. That’s a good indication that a new game is probably coming.
Adding some weight to that is a new ZeniMax hiring listing, MachineGames’ parent company. They’re also hiring a Senior Concept Artist. This is typically for the individual that assists in coming up with new games right from the start. As The Great Circle has just been released, and they’ve got another downloadable content (DLC) titled “The Order of Giants” that they’ve got to release in September 2025, this new position must be that they’re doing something brand new in full, and not new material for the game they currently have out.
Even Microsoft CEO Phil Spencer talked about The Great Circle. He stated he was amazed by the game and indicated that the Indiana Jones franchise would continue in videogames. That is evidence that there are more games on the way.
While it’s a good bet that MachineGames has other games in the works, such as another Wolfenstein game, the massive popularity of The Great Circle guarantees a sequel will follow. Fans genuinely enjoyed playing as Indy, and the players and developers alike appear to want it to keep going on. We can only wait and see, but based on all the hints available, there are going to be further archaeological escapades in the future.
