System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster is getting some nice multiplayer tease. PC gamers have been awaiting for that opportunity since System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster was announced. Many players await for the opportunity to seamlessly play the game with others, and it seems that we might be getting that as soon as the game drops. The original iteration of Multiplayer was pretty shoddy to say the least, but Nightdive Studio does not want to disappoint us this time. We at Infinite Start will cover this new and exciting reveal that has all System Shock fans at the edge of their seats.
System Shock 2 25th getting MP
Apparently, according to the trailer, seamless multiplayer will be available in all platforms. Not to mention that it will be cross platform compatible, so it is neat if your friend happens to have a different console. Back in the days, we used to be able to host servers and play in any way we wanted, we do wonder if this feature will come back in the remaster, since it was the norm for many older shooters.
Considering we are speaking about small studios here, it is possible that they intend to allow players to host their own server without the need of a middleman that prevents you from owning the server setup software. Apparently, Co-Op will also be introduced too, which was touted as a feature that wasn’t there in the original, according to the trailer of course.
As more details fall in like puzzle pieces, we await for more reveals about stability, and other important features that improve the quality of life of the remaster. We can hope that System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Edition can finally have all the kinks polished to make it the perfect game. If you are interested, wishlist the title on Steam.
