Sony removes a thing that has been holding back plenty of PC gamers. After their spiel with Concord’s flop, it seems that Sony is taking decisions to please fans and fix up some mistakes, cause if they were in their desired financial position they wouldn’t be doing this. Players have complained across the globe, about the restrictive measures that Sony pushed on game ownership, in fact, nobody really owns anything they buy on a console. PC players are struggling with ownership issues too, but they still have hopes. We at Infinite Start will cover this new revelation for PC players.
Sony removes a hurdle on PC
There’s ways to please fans and ways to please numbers, and this time Sony actually managed to hit both nails at the same time. It was always unfair that nobody could play Playstation games on PC if they weren’t on a country that was favored by the ecosystem. Ownership is a battle that we are still fighting, every single one of those, even those who fight against their own interests, the interests of everyone including them.
More people needs to realize that when they buy something on Steam, you really aren’t owning anything. Its pretty much the same thing as the game key cards on Nintendo, who was forced to disclose them with that name to avoid any sort of European lawsuit. As issues keep piling up, gamers sometimes need to celebrate the fact that restrictions are lifted but, is this enough?
It isn’t, we need to keep pushing for more rights as customers, and when we can return to an era where we actually own the stuff we buy, then that will be the time we can rest. Sony fixed a big issue that affected the worldwide community, but there’s more things that need to be addressed if they want to dominate the market as they plan.
