CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been buzzing with rumors concerning whether there is another downloadable content (DLC) expansion coming down the pipeline. This emerging rumor is based on intriguing morsels that have emerged in recent times, reporting development reaching further than the already published “Phantom Liberty.”
The focal point of all these conversations is the involvement of Virtuos, a firm that previously worked with CD Projekt Red too. Virtuos was directly involved in the creation of the 2.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077, namely in updating and reimplementing the user interface of the game in December 2024. With experience from the core game systems, they lend credibility to their possible work together on future content.
Also stoking these rumors is the recent move of a writer who moved to Virtuos last April 2025. This writer supposedly added “Cyberpunk 2077 DLC” to work experience. Though official word from CD Projekt Red remains to be forthcoming, the cumulative influence of Virtuos’s prior commitment and this writer’s thought-provoking (if abbreviated) professional debut carries a compelling argument. Fans will eagerly await official word which may support or invalidate the presence of a second full-fledged Night City expansion.
