Ready or Not is controversial for being hyper realistic and very violent, therefore its getting an official notice from VOID Interactive about censoring some content out of the game. PC gamers are conflicted with that decision, but if that means the game will get a pass on PC, then things shall be fine, mods can fix this. There’s plethora of things that one can do with mods to restore cut content, and in fact, most of the cut content usually remains in the game. Being an Unreal Engine title, its also easy to add it in case its cut from the root. We at Infinite Start will cover this.
Ready or Not got censored, for now
Dismemberment will be toned down, and things will be fixed to accommodate the international audiences. Japan has a big thing when it comes to dismemberment, as there has been some historical events that deeply affect them such as the Kobe Murders. Silent Hill was victim of this censorship due to the event taking place around the time it released too, so in Japan, it is censored, while in America, its totally fine. While censorship never gets the point across, what Ready or Not did is quite extreme in many cases.
There’s some nudity fixes too, and other controversial changes of things that needed to go away. Its surprising that a bunch of things actually left the planning room in the first place. Some people are sensible to these things and its important to do this for them too, although, its also important to distinguish fiction from reality, when fiction intertwines with reality however, you know that society is beyond the point of recovery, we have been walking this dangerous path for years now, and nothing seems to stop the train of madness, time will tell what will happen, but for now Ready or Not remains censored.
