The Nvidia 5050 is a massive disaster, some days ago Nvidia decided that it would be a good idea to drop this new GPU at a price point of 250 dollars. For that price, you can pretty much get a better past generation GPU that does way more things than this, the amount of grifiting coming from the green giant is ludicrous. It kinda feels as if gamers weren’t important anymore, since Nvidia cares to cater more to the “AI” tourists who know nothing about hardware in the first place. When the fad ends, the only king will be Nvidia themselves, having sold terrible hardware for a massive price. We at Infinite Start will cover this.
Nvidia 5050 is a huge blunder
We know that Nvidia has dealt with many blunders, and it seems that the 5050 is no different in regards to safety and power draw compared to other cards that do the same or better. The 5050 is comparable to an RX6600 of years prior when it comes to the average performance you get from plenty of games, sure, Frame generation is a thing, but unless you only care about fast frames and 0 response from your inputs, the real deal is getting an RX6600 instead.
The Nvidia 5050 has been regarded as a waste of silicon by many, and honestly, it feels like it has no place in current market anymore. Its severely under spec, despite Nvidia claiming with fake benchmarks that the 5050 can pull ahead from some of its older 3000 series models. If you want to still stick with the green team, you can just pick up a 3000 series GPU and do much more for cheaper. Indie games don’t require many resources to run, and if you want a quality gaming experience you will mostly stick just to them. No use in trying to get on an industry that is bankrupt on creativity like the triple A space.
