Ninja Gaiden enthusiasts can circle the date on their calendars: officially, long-awaited Ninja Gaiden 4 is launching on October 21, on PC, consoles, and day-one as an Xbox Game Pass title. The big reveal came last week’s Xbox Games Showcase when Team Ninja and PlatinumGames presented a new gameplay trailer that revealed more about the new action-adventure game in the much-acclaimed series.
The fourth numerically named game in the much-awaited series was initially revealed back in January 2025 in Microsoft’s Xbox Developer Direct, with the general late 2025 time period. The new revelation gives us a concrete date, and players worldwide cannot wait. The estimated two-minute trailer showed the series’ hallmarks: a combination of quick, brutal combat and tricky platforming, and it suggests that the team is dedicated to delivering the experience fans are accustomed to.
Beyond availability, Ninja Gaiden 4 will also be cloud-supported by Xbox Cloud Gaming, meaning Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to stream the game across various compatible platforms, from PCs to mobile phones. PC Game Pass subscribers will also get to experience instant access to the game at release. Launch is going to be part of the celebration of Team Ninja’s 30th-anniversary series of events throughout the remainder of the year, beginning with the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black earlier in the year.
Pre-order for Ninja Gaiden 4 is currently open, where the standard game is $69.99 and they have a Deluxe Edition for $20 higher. They even have a “Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo” skin that will be included as a pre-order bonus. It will also be an Xbox Play Anywhere game, which would mean that one purchase will get it on all relevant Xbox-supported platforms, including Xbox Series X/S and PC. Interestingly, Ninja Gaiden 4 is also assured day-one release on PlayStation 5, its doors opening to even more people.
