Action role-playing game Lords of the Fallen has dropped a landmark new update, patch 2.0.29, in June 2025, showing the support of the developers for the game’s core experience. The most recent patch is primarily targeting the multiplayer and player-versus-player (PvP) segments, in addition to general stability optimisations necessary for player longevity.
One of the areas of focus in update 2.0.29 is fixing recurring bugs which have been impacting cooperative play. Choppiness of experience was being bemoaned in co-op play, which was ruining the smooth shared experience which the game was offering. There has been some effort in this update to close performance gaps such as that so cooperative travel in Axiom and Umbral’s dangerous territories would not be choppy and enjoyable anymore.
One of the most significant bugs which caused players to lose keys of progress—i.e., Fief, Empyrean, Skyrest, or Pilgrim’s Perch—is one of the bugs fixed as part of that. The patch not only corrects the bug, but also restores any lost keys by players due to this bug in the past, a blessing for players whose progress was ruined.
Matchmaking has been changed a lot in PvP. The goal is to put players in higher level skill players, so that more level and balanced matches can be produced. This has to be changed in order to produce a good and competitive PvP environment where fair play exists and less frustration results from unbalanced matches.
Along with these individual multiplayer tweaks, the patch also contains a collection of crash fixes to further shore up the game. A stable client translates into less interference and more of a smooth experience for all. Aside from this, there is now a new tutorial notice outlining additional explanation of the mechanics of the Lamp Guidance system so that new as well as experienced players will be able to better understand this valuable game feature. These across-the-board improvements are a testament to the developers’ intent to polish the core of Lords of the Fallen and provide a more enjoyable, less troublesome experience for its hardcore user base.
