Developers of the upcoming MindsEye has unveiled a short trailer at this year’s Summer Game Fest and near the end of it, there was a surprise cameo by none other than the one and only Agent 47. This has sparked a huge amount of anticipation as the trailer clearly indicates a Hitman x MindsEye collab at the near future, although it’s currently unclear when it will take place and in what form.
Meanwhile, Hakan Abrak–the CEO of MindsEye’s publisher, IO Interactive–has said that Agent 47 has taken a contract in Redrock City where the events of MindsEye takes place. He didn’t explain whether the protagonist of MindsEye, Jacob Diaz, will be the target Agent 47 is after or whether they’ll team up in one or multiple missions in the game in an exciting turn of events. But whatever it turns out to be, the presence of Hitman in the world of MindsEye is definitely promising and is guaranteed to boost anticipation for the upcoming game.
MindsEye developer Build a Rocket Boy also sparked a recent controversy when the co-CEO of the studio, Mark Gerhard had confirmed that a negative campaign against their upcoming game is being actively financed. However, he didn’t present any evidence to support his accusation which was pretty wild in the current day of the industry.
According to lead developer Leslie Benzies, MindsEye is “one story in an epic universe,” which focuses on protagonist Jacob Diaz while the game will also take players to other stories featuring different main characters in different periods of time.
The Unreal 5 powered title is also confirmed to cost $59.99 which, according to the studio, is “a refreshing departure from the standard $70~$80 AAA price tag.” Though we’ll have to wait and see the total available contents of this game and how they actually stack against the price tag.
MindsEye is slated to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC platform on June 10, while the arrival of the Hitman x MindsEye collab is currently unknown.
