Developer FromSoftware has offered help to players who are having trouble with Elden Ring Nightreign’s Matchmaking system and struggling to find other players when starting an expedition in the multiplayer co-op title. In their official X/Twitter account, the devs suggested restarting the matchmaking service whenever a problem is encountered and while that’s clearly not a big help, at least the devs are aware of the issue and will probably roll out a patch to resolve the problem in the near future.
However, FromSoftware has also added another post acknowledging problems regarding the matchmaking system specifically on the PS5 and PS4 versions of Elden Ring Nightreign, while offering the following steps to rectify the issue:
- Check your NAT type with the following steps:
- Home > Settings > Network > Connection Status > Check Connection Status
There’s currently no troubleshooting advice for the Xbox versions of the game, as of yet.
In other news of Elden Ring Nightreign, producer Yasuhiro Kitao has thanked players for the game’s overwhelming success after release as it hit 2 million sold units on it’s first day.
“Nightreign has some peculiar aspects to its game design and is different from our recent titles in various ways,” Kitao stated. “Nonetheless, many of you have bravely jumped into this world, and for that we’re immensely grateful.
“As with Demon’s Souls or Sekiro, it may be confounding at first, but just like those games, Nightreign offers its own challenges and experiences. Once you overcome the initial hurdle, it’ll surely provide a sense of accomplishment that’s also its very own. We hope you enjoy it.”
However, Elden Ring Nightreign is still at a ‘mixed’ rating on Steam, due to the game being exceptionally difficult for players who are looking to go solo and the lack of two-player co-op and absence of voice chat functionalities. Meanwhile, FromSoftware has confirmed a new patch is out next week aimed at making solo playing easier.
