Dune: Awakening just received it’s latest patch aimed at improving server stability and addressing some ‘minor fixes’ and according to developer Funcom, the patch brings “several backend changes to improve client and server stability.” The dev also stated that if, for some reason you’re not seeing the latest version of Dune: Awakening yet, just restart Steam and it’ll take effect immediately.
The latest patch makes changes to some of the in-game quests in Dune: Awakening such as removing the ability to betray one of the NPC’s named Jocasta Cleo as part of the “Impact of Ecology” contract. The devs have also updated the dialogue options for another quest besides fixing an issue where players were unable to change the descriptions of their guild and base blueprints.

CHANGES
- Made several backend changes to improve the client and server stability.
- The option to betray Jocasta Cleo in the “Impact of Ecology” contract has been temporarily removed due to reports of players being unable to retake the contract after betraying her.
- Updated dialogue lines of the “Planetologist: Advanced: the Search for Kynes” contract to reflect the fixed issue where the players who defected from the Atreides faction couldn’t progress if they picked it up before defecting.
FIXES
- Fixed an issue where the “Limit CPU Usage” graphics option would not apply to all quality presets.
- Fixed an issue where players couldn’t change the description of their guild, the name of the sub-fief console, or a base blueprints.
Despite releasing only three days ago, Dune: Awakening has seen an enormous player count of 142,000 which easily ranks the MMO as one of the highest played titles of the year. And though the game is now available only on the PC platform, developer Funcom has confirmed it’ll be released for the consoles too, at some point in 2026.
Dune: Awakening came out on June 10 for PC.
