Bandai Namco has released a trailer yesterday announcing a new character named Shallot who is headed to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero on June 26 and if you have the Season Pass of the beat-em-up, you can start playing as him from as early as June 23. Shallot is a completely original new character made for the free-to-play mobile game Dragon Ball Legends which came out back in 2018 and his inclusion in the highly successful Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will definitely add more playability to the game, beside the upcoming second part of the Daima DLC which will also be available in the coming months.
Shallot’s addition in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero marks the first appearance of the character outside of Dragon Ball Legends, and looking at his clearly versatile moveset, he’ll make an exciting new inclusion in the game and provide players with more reasons to keep playing before the next larger batch of contents arrive. The trailer showcases him going up against characters such as Raditz, Nappa, Captain Ginyu, First Form Friea and even the original version of the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly from the older DBZ movie, which clearly hints at Shallot’s ability to hang with some of the big guys in the DBZ Universe. However, he doesn’t possess the Super Saiyan form so don’t expect him to go toe-to-toe with some of the heavy hitters in the series such as Jiren or even Super Perfect Cell.
And while the official price for Shallot as a DLC add-on hasn’t been announced yet, it will likely be way less than the $10 cost of the recent Dragon Ball Daima DLC.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero came out on 7th October 2024 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform. The beat-em-up was released to generally positive reviews from the critics and quickly became a huge commercial success with over five million units sold worldwide.
