Digimon Story Time Stranger is coming soon to multiple platforms, including PC. One thing to notice however, is the fact that there will be multiple editions, and some content might be locked behind those premium editions. Not to mention that the game will also be priced at $70 as a base price, which is quite the insane ask by Bandai Namco. As a huge Digimon fan, this sort of decisions baffle me, not to mention that they will fight tooth and nail with a release spot alongside Pokémon. While the two have different target audiences, it is possible that Pokémon can harm sales of the game.
Digimon Story Time Stranger is epic
For those who are big fans of the franchise, this game will be a treat, so far this game looks amazing compared to what they have shown in the previous trailers. Along with this, they seem to include a slew of new things not seen in Cyber Sleuth, while keeping that young adult aura that really belongs in a Digimon game.
For those who somehow enjoyed Digimon World 3, this game will be a treat for them, as it pretty much expands upon everything that game would have loved to be. Digimon Story Time Stranger seems to be of a higher budget compared to other titles in the IP, but do not let that sell you the game yet. It is also the first time significant content, such as partner Digimon and story missions are locked behind a premium version paywall.
Finally, we understand why the Steam shop claims that this game will include in app purchases, and it is inexcusable to have this on a paid game. The only thing they had to do to win the hypothetical competition with Pokémon is just price the game fairly, but like always, Bandai hates Digimon. Habu Kazumasa was the original director for Digimon Story Time Stranger, but they have removed him from developing the game, quite a weird choice.
