Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is here, and it seems that we will have a proper release in 2026. PC gamers have been waiting for a proper sequel to the previous Bloodstained game for years now, and it seems that their pleas have been answered. A new trailer has also dropped, and it seems like we will have some familiar mechanics back for those who are fans of the Castlevania series. After all, Igarashi is directing Bloodstained, and while it might not really be Castlevania this is the best we can get. We at Infinite Start will cover this new and exciting reveal.
Bloodstained is back with us
After the major success of the Bloodstained series years ago, Igarashi decided to keep going with it. It is cool to see that we finally have the chance to enjoy this great series once again, and now with a new cooperative spin. For those familiar with Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, this feature is coming back, not to mention that it will be revamped to fit in the Bloodstained series seamlessly.
Its always cool to see underrated mechanics such as this make a comeback, as it seems that Konami didn’t copyright them due to the poor sales of the original title on the Nintendo DS. Thanks to this oversight on their part, Igarashi can finally reunite with his creation, truly a heartwarming reunion to experience.
Many creators of old titles seem to escape the corporate world to create their own little empires, and it fills me with joy to see that their creative sparks still didn’t wane after all this years. We need Castlevania back, and quick, but Bloodstained is really filling all those empty spots. While many still miss Castlevania, its better if Konami never touches the series again to ruin it like in the 3ds era of games.
