Sony launches New PS5 Console Bundle with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Sony launches New PS5 Console Bundle with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

PlayStation 5 fans and would-be console buyers have something to look forward to later this week, since Sony is said to be introducing a new console bundle. The new bundle is said to include “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” a leader in the best-selling first-person shooter franchise on record. The bundle is said to land in stores on Wednesday, May 28, during Sony’s “Days of Play 2025” promotion week.

This new package is a timely release for those who have not yet purchased a PlayStation 5 console, coupling the standard PS5 Slim and the Digital Edition PS5 Slim with the upcoming “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” game. Sources indicate that the PS5 Slim bundle will cost $399.99 and the Digital Edition will cost $449.99. It is interesting to note that these prices are reportedly quoted and are awaiting official word from PlayStation.

This bundle drop comes at a timely strategic moment, when “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” and “Warzone Season 4” release on May 29. The season update is rich with plenty to get players pumped about in terms of new guns, maps, and gameplay modes, not to mention some popular classic guns returning from earlier titles in the Call of Duty series. Although console bundles are meant to include a digital download code for the game, new reports have emerged that in-game rewards or special cosmetics for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” will not be discovered in such specific bundles.

The “Play Days 2025” sale, running for a fortnight until June 11, 2025, is also set to include a string of offers on PS5 consoles and hardware at the PlayStation Direct website and leading retailers. That could involve steep markdowns on Slim PS5 models, perhaps even steeper than Black Friday’s, and a lesser markdown on the more expensive PS5 Pro, which debuted in November 2024.

This rollout is the follow-up to Sony’s decision to make its next-gen console more desirable to a mass market by drawing inspiration from earlier console bundles, which also featured highly-rated first-party titles such as “Astro Bot,” “God of War Ragnarok,” “Horizon Forbidden West,” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” This bundle is yet another attractive entry point for players who want to leap headfirst into the PlayStation universe.
