Former Xbox exclusive Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is set to arrive on the PS5 and PS5 Pro in an Enhanced Edition with bonus features, though there’s no official release date as of yet. And although developer Ninja Theory is yet to announce any of the additional features in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition, the dev has said that they will also be available for free on both the Xbox Series X|S and the PC which will no doubt increase the playability of the game even more.
“The team have been working hard to optimise Hellblade 2 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro to give you the very best experience we can,” Ninja Theory stated. “We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.”
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the latest in the line of former Xbox exclusive titles to arrive on Sony’s platforms as Microsoft is now making the Playstation as another platform where players can experience all of it’s first-party games. And although the games arrive on Sony’s platforms at a much later date than it had first arrived on the Xbox systems, they do offer additional contents which seems like a fair trade-off.
Also, as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is particularly known for it’s near-photorealistic and spectacular visuals and was quite a graphical stunner at launch courtesy of the mighty Unreal Engine 5, it’s guaranteed to shine on the PS5 Pro even more where the game would easily look the best among all the consoles it was released for. So if you have a PS5 Pro, Hellblade 2 is going to look pretty jaw-droppingly awesome, that’s for sure.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 came out in 2024 and serves as a sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which was released in 2017. Set in 9th century Iceland, Hellblade 2 puts players in the shoes of a Celtic warrior named Senua, who battles supernatural entities in her mind as well as in real life. The game was particularly praised for it’s cinematic gameplay and visual realism as well as storytelling which was laser-focused and worth revisiting.
