In a shock twist, Overwatch 2 has announced a crossover with Street Fighter 6, introducing iconic characters of the original fighting game into Overwatch. The crossover, intended to be announced just one month after the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing event, represents Season 16 the first season in Overwatch 2 history to include two external IP crossovers and, more notably, the first to include a non-Blizzard videogame included.
Eight of the heroes in Overwatch 2 were remade into legendary characters from Street Fighter. Ryu Hanzo, Chun-Li Juno, Cammy Widowmaker, Guile Soldier: 76, Dhalsim Zenyatta, M. Bison Sigma, Blanka Winston, and Juri Kiriko all get special skins. The crossovers don’t end with the skins, as players can pick up highlight intros, victory poses, and emotes that let the Overwatch 2 characters totally live up to their Street Fighter 6 counterparts. Chun-Li Juno’s speed kicks, Ryu Hanzo’s Hadokens and Shoryukens, and Dhalsim Zenyatta’s Yoga Flames are some of the many references to Street Fighter that players can unlock.
Overwatch 2′s Street Fighter 6 crossover is largest in game history, larger than the original six skins on the first LE SSERAFIM event. Each skin can be purchased individually or in sets. Both Mega Bundles feature Chun-Li Juno, Ryu Hanzo, Dhalsim Zenyatta, and M. Bison Sigma in one pack, and Juri Kiriko, Cammy Widowmaker, Blanka Winston, and Guile Soldier: 76 in the other. For loyal fans, there is the Street Fighter 6 Ultra Bundle featuring all eight skins and their cosmetics.
The crossover, which also includes a May 20 to June 2 in-game event, allows players to complete challenges to obtain Street Fighter 6-themed sprays, voice lines, and player title, as well as up to 40,000 Battle Pass XP. Bundle prices will be made public upon their arrival at the store on May 20. However, considering past Overwatch 2 collaborations, character bundles should cost around 2800 Overwatch Coins, Mega Bundles at 5900, and Ultra Bundle at around 10,000.
