Onimusha 2 is a classic, and many consider it to be the best of the original duology on PS2. Released in March 2002, this game boasted impressive visuals that captivated every gamer who played the first one. While still retaining some elements that younger players may deem clunky, it is still a blast of the past that everyone needs to try out, at least if they wanna increase their gamer credits. Now, there’s no need for an emulator, and you can actually play this bad boy on your PC without a hassle. Unfortunately however, you may want to consider just burning a DVD, since this ported version has Denuvo.
Onimusha 2 also has Denuvo
I would love to say this is the best version of the game, however, thanks to the inclusion of Denuvo in the package, I can’t recommend it. This is 23 year old game, everyone and their mothers has found a way to download it for free, its not funny Denuvo is in it. Capcom needs to reconsider before they find out that they won’t have enough sales. Capcom must not repeat the same mistakes that Square Enix did, however, it seems that many Japanese corporations are just falling in their protectionist bias.
Onimusha 2 can easily be emulated by anyone, and you don’t even need to have a PC to do so. As long as this port does not offer anything over the superior console experience, then people should skip on this one without a doubt, unless they remove Denuvo right now. Denuvo is hellish, and nobody is able to do archival work on games that have it. Not to mention that customers who buy a game with Denuvo face the risk of being of high level data theft that can happen, even at the hardware level.
This software is not easy to remove from a game, and its even harder to remove from a PC that has already been infected with it. If you really value your PC and other hardware, you should never get any game that contains this accursed piece of malware in it. Onimusha 2 is better on an emulator with filters.
