One extremely patient The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered fan just managed to capture the gaming world’s imagination by spending hours creating domino-like objects using books. Since its late April release, Oblivion Remastered has challenged gamers to try out wacky and bizarre things, most of which they’ve posted on social media.
In a recent Elder Scrolls subreddit post, poster Muaxh03 posted a video of their Oblivion Remastered achievement. The video shows dozens of books stacked up like dominoes in the streets of the Imperial City, which the poster later satisfyingly topples. The poster states that this achievement took them close to seven hours to do, and mods were not used to arrange the books. They also stated that they experienced a lot of bugs and glitches during the process, and had to disable NPCs so that they would not cause interference with the setup.
Despite the game’s critical and commercial success, it has not been without issues. Players have complained of experiencing weird glitches and bugs, including an alchemy glitch that causes one potion to weigh five pounds and a “ghost horse” which appears in Cyrodiil. Moreover, PC players have had some minor problems, whereas console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have had severe performance problems, with the default 60 FPS degrading over time. The problem cannot be temporarily resolved except for restarting and ending the game.
All of these issues notwithstanding, most of the players are playing bizarre challenges and not the core story of the game. Presently, the developers of Oblivion Remastered are in need of feedback from the players because they continue to come up with patches and updates for the RPG. Most of the players are calling for the introduction of a Photo Mode, but others want other levels of difficulty introduced and other ways of customizing characters.
