Officially, Capcom has announced that “Monster Hunter Wilds” will be bringing back “Layered Weapons” as part of its second major post-release update, Title Update 2. Much-anticipated by fans of “Monster Hunter: World,” this feature will allow hunters to personalize the appearance of their Master Rank weapons separate from their numerical attributes.
As reported by Comic Book, the addition of Layered Weapons makes possible a higher degree of hunter appearance customization. This means that the player could maintain the best performance out of their most deadly equipment but stylistically take on the look of any other equipment piece in their collection, enabling more creative freedom within their game character.
Aside from this profoundly important aesthetic aspect, Title Update 2 also promises to broadly improve the experience of “Monster Hunter Wilds.”. The update will also see the return of the popular fan favorite leviathan, Lagiacrus, which was last seen in “Monster Hunter Generations.” Its return will no doubt get long-time fans excited and introduce new players to its brute force. Furthermore, the update will contain more 8-star “Tempered Monsters,” offering greater challenges for players who want to test their hunting skills against tougher versions of current creatures.
Since its debut, “Monster Hunter Wilds” has been steadily updated, adding 35 new monsters and polishing fundamental gameplay mechanics. The game has also experienced its first big crossover with “Street Fighter 6,” adding Akuma as a standalone armor set with representative abilities. Smaller, more frequent updates, such as Version 1.011, have consistently added new Tempered Monsters and polished a number of weapon classes, such as the Hammer, Gunlance, and Light Bowgun.
The official addition of Layered Weapons in Title Update 2, along with other intriguing content, solidifies Capcom’s commitment to enhancing the “Monster Hunter Wilds” gameplay experience. While the actual mechanics of the layered weapon system in “Wilds” remain to be properly established, the forthcoming free title update later this summer will introduce thrilling and worth-the-money features to the game.
