The upcoming Mafia: The Old Country just got a new trailer showcasing the game’s combat and stealth mechanics, alongside a host of gorgeous screenshots. Hanger 13, the developer behind the gangster game, has also offered some insights regarding the narrative experience that they’ve built in Mafia: The Old Country.
According to Hanger 13 President Nick Baynes, Mafia: The Old Country is going to be a “focused, linear experience that combines quality storytelling, authentic era immersion and a refined take on the familiar Mafia gameplay.”
“That focus allows us to deliver a story that’s gritty, grounded, brutal and emotional. Embracing early 1900s era Sicily, this is a mafia origin story that follows our protagonist, Enzo Favara, as he takes the oath and works his way up Don Torrisi’s crime family.”
2K President David Ismailer has also commented regarding the upcoming title: “We think there’s a large audience for compelling stories that don’t require massive time commitments.
“We’re excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear highly-polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis.”
According to these comments it certainly seems like Mafia: The Old Country will be a relatively shorter single-player focused experience and maybe that’s why the Standard Edition of the game is priced at $49.99 on all platforms while the Deluxe Edition of the game costs $59.99. The Deluxe Edition will contain several additional weapons along with accessories such as in-game outfits for your character, digital bonus materials including the Original Score and a Digital Artbook full of concept art and developer notes.
Both editions are up for pre-order right now and will launch on August 8, 2025 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform. Pre-ordering the game will also unlock the Soldato Pack featuring the “Soldato” Outfit plus several other accessories and weapons.
