Kingdoms of the Dump is coming soon to PC in 2025, this RPG looks quite unique compared to others too. Roach Games is the main development force behind it, and they have quite the impressive backlog, despite it not showing on Steam. They have been involved in Earthbound projects for decades, similar to the popular dev behind Undertale, Toby Fox. Kingdoms of the Dump is shaping up to be a pile of scrappy enjoyment that PC players will be able to enjoy soon. While there’s no proper release date, we know it will happen in 2025 as the game is fully funded.
Kingdoms of the Dump is coming
We have to take into account that the team behind it loves retro RPGs such as Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and from the general SNES catalogue. Therefore, we can assume that this title will be filled with tons of quality and passion, backed by their extensive gaming catalogue. This game has been in development for years now, and it exudes quite the unique aura of a project made with tons of effort.
Eagleland was a previous project Roach Games was doing, and it was actually an Earthbound fan game that never came to fruition. Instead, it seems that life got in the way for the developers, and some of the team are now custodians, which ironically shows in the theming of the game. Exploring the 5 and a half kingdoms with a varied cast of characters feels like it will be quite the quirky and unique experience.
The composer behind it also worked with the original Roach Games team, and the soundtrack clearly shows that it is being done with instruments belonging to the SNES, truly a feat to pull off. Not to mention that Hiroki Kikuta is having a guest track in the game, and he is best known for his musical work in the Mana series, another legendary title Kingdoms of the Dump took inspiration from.
