Genshin Impact players are in for a surprise as leaks suggest a significant change in the game’s update schedule. According to a reliable source within the Genshin Impact community, Version 5.8 will introduce Mare Jivari as a separate map, potentially replacing the traditional Summer Event. This marks a departure from the game’s established pattern since its launch, where a summer adventure has been a yearly staple, often connected to the Hexenzirkel.
The rescheduling of content updates in Natlan indicates that Genshin Impact might forgo its Summer Event for the first time. Version 5.7 will not feature any map expansions, leaving players to await Version 5.8 to continue their Natlan exploration. Given that the game has never released a new zone alongside the Summer Event, Mare Jivari is expected to be the primary focus of Version 5.8.
Mare Jivari, teased since Version 1.0, is an island located at the westernmost point of Teyvat, described as a place where the wind does not blow. Its history within Natlan is marked by periods of appearance and disappearance, with some lore suggesting its existence beyond the realm of time.
In place of the Summer Event, Mare Jivari may offer players a continuation of beloved side stories. Enkanomiya, memorable for its visual appeal and the character Enjou, a “lowly clerk” of the Abyss Order, may see a return. Enjou expressed interest in Mare Jivari during Version 5.2, suggesting a potential reunion with the Traveler and Paimon in Version 5.8.
Unlike the limited-time nature of Summer Events, Mare Jivari is expected to be a permanent addition to the game. It will likely remain explorable even after Version 6.0, as it will be necessary to complete the Tablet of Tona in Natlan. Version 6.0 will introduce Nod-Krai, an autonomous province on the southern borders of Snezhnaya, expected to launch in September. However, players can anticipate the arrival of Version 5.8, featuring Mare Jivari, around July 30.e
