This NPC model sports a clothing style unseen in Teyvat, yet it strangely echoes Remuria, the dead civilization whose ruins lie underwater in Fontaine. Given Remuria’s connection to Hyperborea, and Hyperborea’s link to Nod-Krai, these resources may be setting the stage for the new region.
The exact era of Hyperborea remains unknown, but references suggest a connection to Snezhnaya, similar to Remuria’s relation to Fontaine. The Frostmoon Scions, who abandoned their golden civilization to settle in Nod-Krai, will likely be a key faction players interact with during Nod-Krai’s Archon Quest.
Nod-Krai’s geographical location, nestled between Mont Esus and Snezhnaya, suggests potential influences from Remuria. HoYoverse developers have stated that Nod-Krai will primarily draw inspiration from Baltic Sea cultures and Celtic folklore, while also incorporating other design elements that fit within Teyvat’s world.
Dainsleif’s quest is expected to take place in Natlan, and players will likely encounter these new NPCs during the Flagship Event for Version 5.7. The update may also hint at a new region with NPC designs and outfits linked to Remuria and Hyperborea. Dainsleif could have an expanded role in Version 5.7, potentially becoming playable to some extent.
