Epic’s hit battle royale game, Fortnite, is ready to host a new music event with well-known artist Sabrina Carpenter. Titled the “Dance With Sabrina” event, this in-game celebration will begin on May 30 and end on June 16, providing gamers with a new interactive feature within the Fortnite universe.
The activity will mostly take place on the Jam Stage, a recurring element of Fortnite Festival, the rhythm-based version of the game similar to Guitar Hero. Competitors will be playing a mini-game where they are trying to coordinate the emotes of their character with the rhythm of Sabrina Carpenter’s music. This mechanic tries to encourage player participation with the help of musical rhythm and emotive character movements.
One distinctive feature of the “Dance With Sabrina” event is the ability for up to three players who have performed well to take on key roles in the in-game performance. These players can be chosen as Dance Leader, Special Effects Pro, or Video Artist, each role giving them control over different aspects of the show, including choosing backdrops, controlling dancer emotes, or picking visual effects. This active aspect gives players the chance to directly impact the event’s dynamic performance.
Although the main thrust seems to be musical interaction and co-performance, information as to possible cosmetic or XP rewards is not confirmed. But in line with tradition, Fortnite tends to introduce special quests and rewards during events like this, so likely, players will have chances to obtain special items.
This event helps keep players interested and present engaging content as the existing Fortnite season moves towards its end. Having Sabrina Carpenter, who was featured before in Fortnite Festival Season 8 with themed cosmetics and jam tracks, further reinforces the game’s focus on incorporating top musical artists into its ever-changing experience.
